Testing for ND

I brought my equipment to John Kenney's office today to test out my lighting for ND. Almost ready to leave.

Carlisle Day 4

Day 4 at Carlisle offered a bunch of great shots. I am really happy with the outcome. I wish there were more shots, but it is a small show. I hope everyone enjoys these and gets ready for North Dakota.

Carlisle Day 3

Alright today was much more successful than yesterday. I got a shot of the whole fairgrounds and a few shots of the vendors. Ian even posed for possibly the best shot of the show. Unfortunately yesterday my canopy that was the backbone for the studio shots got destroyed in the winds, but I have still managed to shoot the vendors in their spaces which is turning out great. I need to re-shoot a few that I thought would have been amazing but had their flaws. Hopefully I will get to do that tomorrow.

Day 2

Gotta make this quick. Day 2 had a crazy storm and isn't yet over, I am gonna try to get some shots of the whole place tonight, or maybe tomorrow when it is more crowded. Carlos taught me about a small time in the day when the light is perfect. He is totally right and it is very easy for me to see a major difference, I think I might leave my camera in the bag when the light isn't right and not waste my time.

Carlisle Day One

We didn't get here until 4:30 because it was 95+ outside all day, so we didn't want to set up in the heat. It seems like no one else did either, the place is pretty empty. I found one guy setting up and took a few shots of him but that will probably be it today. Tomorrow should be a whole other story though.

Deadly

Wow, again only one shot. I didn't shoot anything today so I continued the WWII project. Lets see where this goes before Carlisle. This was my grandfather's bag from WWII. The top reads
POCKET, MAGAZINE,
CARBINE, 30 ROUND
74-P-142-705
MIL-P-1671A 28 NOV. '50
and then a bunch of more random letters and numbers

One Shot, One Kill

I am getting deadly with this new camera. I set up a little still life so I can keep my promise of taking and uploading at least one shot a day. I set up everything, took no test shots and only took one shot with the strobes. Check it out Mr. Kenney, I am almost there.

Sunset River Tour

Greg was nice enough to take me out again to photograph the sun setting on the hudson. Here are a few of the shots from today's trip. It was a beautiful trip.

Early Morning

I have been starting to get up early in the morning to catch the sun rising. I need to start using a tripod, but besides that these images came out great I think. Here is a shot looking north from the bear mountain bridge at about 6 in the morning.

Cloudy Day

I got up at 5 to photograph the sun rising but it was too cloudy and then wanted to go to Harriman State Park tonight but it was still too cloudy. I am going to photograph something everyday until Carlisle though, so here is what I got today.

Day Light Crop

I am figuring out more and more on this camera. Here is a decent day shot. I cropped it really tightly and didn't blow it up at all, I am amazed at how large the files can be. Hopefully I will figure this camera out completely soon.

Traditional Test

I have been to the boat launch with every camera I have ever had. I just got my hasselblad so I decided to do the traditional test and bring it there. The night time shots won't really work until I get a cable, but here is what I could do without one.

More Bottles

Here is the next series I might work on, it is a little more difficult than I thought. Not too bad though. More shots to come soon, stay tuned.

Underwater

I got a new underwater casing for my camera to use on a project tomorrow and thought I would test it out first. This is the only test I have, it was getting a little dark so it is kind of grainy, but not too bad. Stay tuned for some amazing shots coming up in the next few days.
