Atlanta

I was in Atlanta for a little over 24 hours at the beginning of the week. I didn't travel with the normal crew though, this time it was just Jeff an I. Both flights were awesome, Jeff is a constant source of non-stop entertainment and the shoot went off without a hitch. We stopped at this local barbecue place after the shoot.

A day late a dollar short

A day late, the sign isn't changing as much as I would have hoped.

Finally

I haven't posted in a long time. Things have been very busy at work but I am going to start posting my next project every friday and try to add things in between. I am starting to photograph this discount meat store named Roxie's in between where I work and my apartment. They have a great sign with all the special on the front that changed quite frequently. Here is one of the first shots I took today in the rain.

Brimfield Flea Market

Brimfield is a gigantic flea market about an hour away from me. It happens three times a year, but unfortunately I went on the last day and people were already packing up. There were a few that weren't in the mood to pack though.

GLP creative

The amazing creative department at GLP gave me a little assistance to make the ultimate shot.

Ames night at Quixote studio Boston

Gary (the dude I work for) threw me my first solo photo job last night. There was a party at another studio in Boston named Quixote put on by the Ames hotel. They gave me a section of the studio to setup with some of the hotel furniture and access to all their lights and equipment. The shots came out great and all of them can be found on the Quixote Studio Boston facebook site. Here are a few of the highlights.

Calm after the storm

Still searching for that look. Had sometime this morning to walk around the neighborhood where the studio is and found this at the end of street.

Stop Sign

Here is another photo from Centralia. Trying some new things out finding a new look for myself.

Luggage

We have a bunch of suitcases from a Samsonite shoot and we have to photograph some of them Monday. I was told to lay them out in the studio, so I made the best layout I could think of.

Centralia

Centralia, PA was a major coal mining town until the 1960's. At one time it had 27 saloons, 5 hotels and 6 churches. In 1962 a fire started in a stone shaft and spread to the gigantic mine that supported the town. Today there are only 7 residents left. The government declared eminent domain and relocated everyone that would move, the post office revoked the zip code, and slowly each vacant building was demolished. Today there are only 5 houses, 3 graveyards, and one church left. The streets are still there, but extremely overgrown with all different plants. I had to check the area out. Here are some 360 degree shots of two major intersections. The first is Main St. and Peach St. and the second is North St. and Paxton St.

Surf Day

Went surfing today. It was amazing, I actually caught a wave. I rode it on my stomach, but none the less I did ride it. Here are some shots of the other clowns that were there.

Dark Lunch

There are a ton of Chinese restaurants near me and I have been slowly trying them all to see which ones are good and which ones aren't. So this is this little one in the center of town that there were a bunch of Chinese people waiting outside of over the weekend so I figured it had to be good. I went in yesterday for lunch and the food was terrible, it was like someone grabbed a frozen bag of chinese food from a jewish grocery store and covered it in salt.

Slow

I am slow at putting these blogs up, but it is my honeymoon so too bad. The internet here is also rather slow so here is a photo I took but it is smaller than what I like to post because of the slow internet. When I get back I will replace it with a larger edited version.

Walk Around

We started walking around some in between the chaos over the past few days. We found this great moon gate and an awesome shipyard. Here is a little more of what we saw and in just a few hours our wedding will begin.

First Day

I haven't been able to post anything recently because I have been busy getting my new life started. In the past two weeks I got a full time job, searched for and moved in to a new apartment, and just today arrived in Bermuda to get married on Saturday. I am going to try to post often while I am here and share the awesome times and sights of my wedding/honeymoon. So after arriving at our resort they let us into our room which is huge. And at the end of the room right before our private balcony there was a bottle of champagne waiting for us... well me at least. Here is the view from our balcony. I am going to walk around the area for a while so hopefully more shots to come tonight.

WWII pilot

I have wanted to recreate a WWII pilot photograph for a while. I have finally gathered all the materials, but was in a rush to shoot before it started raining so didn't use everything yet. This is just a test, but there will eventually be more uniform and a P-51 mustang in the background.

On the River

A few days ago I went out on the river on Launch 5 with a group of kids from school. One of the crew members of the boat used to work at the school that is for youth from difficult pasts. Some of them have had problems with the police in the past and many didn't trust them. Some local police were kind enough to board with us an talk to the kids. By the end of the their time together the police and most wary youth were shaking hands and the kids had a new found respect for police.

The Dress

I have been very busy recently, starting to get ready to move. Hopefully I will be moving to Boston in the next few weeks and I am ready to go. Tammy did just finish her dress and I thought I would put a photo of it up. I have some other great photos I took recently but they aren't totally done yet and are going to be part of a great project. As soon as I get some done I will throw them up.

And the crowd goes wild

I haven't been able to blog about much recently. Things have been hectic and I have been in Boston for the past week and going up again next week, it looks like Tammy and I will be moving there shortly. I did manage to go to softball game featuring the local brewery I enjoy so much playing against a local bar. The game didn't draw a huge crowd (maybe 8 people 3 of which came with me), but there were some awesome plays. Here are a few shots...

Soda

Here are some more shots from Rhinebeck. I thought they were appropriate. I am going to Boston to work on a shoot for a large soda company. I found some fans at the car show.

Sister Monk

I have been very busy recently which is great. I photographed a band that has turned a poem by the Dalai Lama into a song. They are called Sister Monk and I have sent in some photos and a brief story of them to a non-profit I volunteer for. They play in the subways of Manhattan where a very diverse crowd forms to listen.
