I have been very busy recently which is great. I photographed a band that has turned a poem by the Dalai Lama into a song. They are called Sister Monk and I have sent in some photos and a brief story of them to a non-profit I volunteer for. They play in the subways of Manhattan where a very diverse crowd forms to listen.

I have realized the first tank shot I edited the top turret of the tank is facing the wrong way so I have to re-shoot that one. I have edited 5 more since, and they take a very long time. I have 24 total, so here are two of the 5 more I have edited. When I am all done I am going to add a section on my site (www.tomevansphotography.com)
I came up with a couple of ideas a while ago but wasn't able to shoot any of them because I needed a different lens. After working for a great photographer for a while I have learned I can pretty much get glasses for my current lens and now get much closer to objects. These are very tiny toys called micro machines that my father and I would search for and collect when I was young. I plan on printing them unbelievably large so the image is at least 5 times the size of the actual toy. Here is the first rough edit of about 20

I am going to be in the city for the next couple of days. I brought my Leica and have been looking for people that wouldn't yell at me for taking their photo. The music performers in the subways are regularly getting their photo taken. So after shooting for a little while I throw a couple quarters in their case, basket, or hat and they are happy as can be. Finally people that are interesting and don't hate me for taking some photos.

I recently met someone who works at a local micro brewery. I have had the beer at local restaurants before, but never visited the brewery. I thought I would stop by today for the free tasting and to check out the place. It was a very open great place that I was allowed to walk anywhere in. Some of the equipment I use as well, but a lot is high end mass production equipment. It was great and might become a new place to stop by more regularly.

A good friend of mine has been going through chemotherapy since christmas. He has finally finished and is starting to get back all of his energy. He wants a before and after photo of himself so her is one of a few photos we took less than a week after he got back from the hospital after being in and out for 4 months. I am going to photograph him again in a few months when he is 100% again and compare the photos.
